| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>RESUMO: <br/><br/>Este trabalho relata a obtenção e o estudo químico preliminar do óleo essencial de Anemia<br/>tomentosa (Savigny) Swartz var. anthriscifolia (Schrader) Mickel (Schizaeaceae). As plantas foram coletadas<br/>em local rochoso no estado do Rio de Janeiro e as folhas frescas submetidas à extração pelo método de<br/>Clevenger modificado. O óleo obtido foi analisado por cromatografia em fase gasosa acoplada a<br/>espectrometria de massas e por espectroscopia de ressonância magnética nuclear de próton e de<br/>carbono-13. O componente majoritário do óleo foi identificado como isoafricanol. Este é o primeiro registro<br/>de um esqueleto africano em pteridófita.<br/><br/>Palavras-chave: Isoafricanol, sesquiterpeno, africano, pteridófita, Anemia tomentosa |

| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>ABSTRACT: <br/><br/>Isoafricanol, an unusual sesquiterpene from the Pteridophyte Anemia tomentosa var.<br/>anthriscifolia. This work reports the isolation and preliminary chemical analyses of the essential oil from<br/>Anemia tomentosa (Savigny) Swartz var. anthriscifolia (Schrader) Mickel (Schizaeaceae). Plants were<br/>collected from a rocky area in the State of Rio de Janeiro, and fresh leaves were submitted to modified<br/>Clevenger extraction. The essential oil was analyzed by GC-MS and by 1H- and 13C-NMR spectroscopies.<br/>The major component was unambigously identified as isoafricanol. This is the first report of an African<br/>sesquiterpene in Pteridophyta.<br/><br/><br/>Key words: Isoafricanol, sesquiterpene, African, pteridophytes, Anemia tomentosa |
