| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>RESUMO: <br/><br/>A batata de purga (Operculina macrocarpa L. Urban) é amplamente utilizada pela<br/>população do semiárido brasileiro devido à sua atividade laxante, purgativa, depurativa, contra<br/>moléstias da pele e no tratamento da leucorreia da caprinovinocultura. O objetivo deste estudo<br/>foi determinar as principais características da batata-de-purga, tais como o peso das sementes,<br/>peso dos tubérculos, tamanho dos tubérculos, diâmetro dos tubérculos, número de sementes e<br/>o número de convolvos cultivados em 5 diferentes níveis de irrigação. As condições de cultivo<br/>da cultura foram com e sem sombreamento com cobertura plástica. Os tratamentos de irrigação<br/>foram com base na evapotranspiração de referência (ETo): T1 = 25%ETo; T2 = 50% ETo; T3<br/>= 75% ETo; T4 = 100% ETo e T5= 125%ETo. A irrigação foi realizada em turno de rega de<br/>3 dias e o volume de água aplicado foi com base o tratamento T4. Os valores diários da ETo<br/>foram determinados com base no método de Penman-Monteith. Os resultados indicaram que<br/>todos componentes de produção da batata-de-purga foram fortemente influenciadas tanto pelos<br/>níveis de água aplicados à cultura, quanto pelas condições de cultivo.<br/><br/>Palavras-chave: Convolvulaceae, evapotranspiração, Irrigação, produtividade |

| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>ABSTRACT: <br/><br/>Determination of growth variables of Operculina macrocarpa L. Urban<br/>grown organically in the Brazilian semiarid. The purge potato (Operculina macrocarpa L.<br/>Urban) has its therapeutic value recognized by science and has been used in the treatment<br/>of skin diseases and leukorrhea. The objectives of this study were to determine the water use<br/>efficiency and yield components of purge potato, such as seed weight, tuber weight, tuber size,<br/>tuber diameter, number of seeds and the number of convolvos growing in 5 different levels of<br/>irrigation. The growing conditions were with and without shade by plastic cover. The irrigation<br/>treatments were based on reference evapotranspiration (ETo): T1 = 25% ETo; T2 = 50% ETo; T3<br/>= 75% ETo; T4 = 100% ETo and T5 = 125% ETo. Irrigation was performed in a 3 days irrigation<br/>interval and the water amount was applied based on the T4 treatment. The daily values in ETo<br/>were based on the Penman-Monteith approach. Our results indicated that all yield components<br/>in purge potato were strongly influenced by both water levels and growing conditions.<br/><br/>Keywords: Convolvulaceae, evapotranspiration, irrigation, yield. |
