| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>RESUMO: <br/><br/>Pacientes em tratamento quimioterápico, radioterápico e com terapia<br/>imunossupressora apresentam mucosite oral com grande frequência e o efeito protetor<br/>de produtos naturais, como a camomila, contra a toxicidade causada por estes agentes é<br/>provavelmente uma das estratégias preventivas mais promissoras para estes pacientes.<br/>O presente trabalho trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura que analisou o uso<br/>da Chamomilla recutita no tratamento e/ou prevenção da mucosite. Foram encontradas<br/>15 referências. Contudo, somente nove se enquadravam nos critérios de inclusão. Dos<br/>artigos analisados nesta revisão, oito apresentaram resultados positivos do uso da<br/>camomila na mucosite oral, reduzindo a incidência e/ou a intensidade. Apenas um dos<br/>estudos não mostrou evidências relacionadas à camomila. Observa-se que a C. recutita<br/>vem demonstrando efetividade quanto ao seu uso em alterações inflamatórias. Entretanto,<br/>para comprovar sua indicação, assim como a sua efetividade, faz-se necessário o<br/>desenvolvimento de novos estudos.<br/><br/>Palavras-chave: Camomila; Mucosite; Fitoterapia |

| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>ABSTRACT: <br/><br/>Use of Chamomilla recutita in oral mucositis: an integrative review.<br/>Patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunosuppressive therapy have<br/>oral mucositis with great frequency and the protective effect of natural products, such as<br/>chamomile, against toxicity caused by these agents is probably one of the most promising<br/>preventive strategies for these patients. This article it is an integrative review of the<br/>literatures in order to analyze the use of Chamomilla recutita in the treatment and/or<br/>prevention of mucositis. We have found 15 references, nevertheless only some of them met<br/>the inclusion criteria. Nine articles were analyzed in this review, eight had positive results<br/>about the use of chamomile in oral mucositis, reducing the incidence and / or intensity. And<br/>one of the studies showed no evidence related to chamomile. It is observed that C. recutita<br/>has demonstrated effectiveness due to inflammatory changes. However, in order to prove<br/>this statement, as well as its effectiveness, it is necessary the development of new studies.<br/><br/>Keywords: Chamomile; Mucositis; Phytotherapy |
