| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>RESUMO: <br/><br/>Este estudo apresenta indicações de uso medicinal para as espécies de árvores<br/>com Valor Potencial de Exploração Sustentável (VPES) do sul do estado de Santa Catarina<br/>obtidos por meio de literatura popular e científica pertinente. Para tanto, foram avaliados os<br/>trabalhos que constam dados fitossociológicos de remanescentes de Floresta Ombrófila<br/>Densa. Outro parâmetro considerado foi a investigação científica dessas espécies por meio<br/>de análise bibliométrica nas bases de dados Scopus e Science Direct até o fim do ano de<br/>2014. Foram reunidas informações de 331 espécies, com 79 possuindo VPES e, dentre essas,<br/>19 apresentaram potencial medicinal. Destas espécies 50% obtiveram alto valor de VPES.<br/>Allophylus edulis (A.St.-Hil. et al.) Hieron. ex Niederl foi a espécie que apresentou maior VPES,<br/>enquanto a Casearia sylvestris Sw. destacou-se com oito indicações de uso, sendo a única<br/>espécie que consta na Relação de Plantas Medicinais de Interesse para o Sistema Único de<br/>Saúde (RENISUS). A produção científica mostrou-se promissora, principalmente para Ilex<br/>paraguariensis St.-Hil., espécie com 299 indexações.<br/><br/>Palavras-chave: PFNM; Bibliometria; Fitoterápicos; Casearia sylvestris; Ilex paraguariensis. |

| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>ABSTRACT: <br/><br/>Medicinal trees with Potential Value of Sustainable Exploration (VPES) in<br/>the Southern region of Santa Catarina State, Brazil. This study presents several indications<br/>of medicinal use of tree species with Potential Value for Sustainable Exploitation (VPES) in<br/>the Southern region of Santa Catarina State using popular knowledge and relevant scientific<br/>literature. Therefore, all studies in the literature that contained phytosociological data of Dense<br/>Ombrophilous Forest remnants were evaluated. The scientific investigation about these tree<br/>species were also evaluated by bibliometric analysis in Scopus and Science Direct databases<br/>until the end of 2014. Information about 331 trees species was obtained, with 79 species having<br/>VPES and, among these, 19 presented medicinal potential value. Among these species, 50%<br/>presented high VPES. Allophylus edulis (A.St.-Hil. et al.) Hieron. ex Niederl. had the highest<br/>VPES, whereas Casearia sylvestris Sw. presented eight indications of medicinal use, and<br/>it is the only species in the List of Medicinal Plants of Interest for the Public Health System<br/>(RENISUS).
