| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/><br/>Resumo: A moringa (Moringaoleifera Lam) é uma planta originária da Índia de crescimento rápido, que se adapta facilmente às condições edafoclimáticas do nordeste brasileiro. No entanto, ainda são poucas informações existentes sobre a produção de mudas desta espécie, desta forma, o objetivo desse trabalho foi caracterizar aspectos morfobiométricos da semente, e morfologia da germinação e plântulas de moringa. Foram utilizadas 200 sementes de moringa em completo estádio de maturação fisiológica, sendo este no momento de dispersão pela própria planta. Realizou-se a caracterização morfobiométrica das sementes, sendo mensuradas as medidas de comprimento e largura com auxílio de um paquímetro digital e a visualização de partes integrantes das sementes através de lupas estereoscópicas, realizando-se ilustrações manuais da morfologia da germinação e de plântulas. Os dados foram avaliados no Microsoft Excel. As sementes de moringa apresentam tamanho mediano para comprimento de 10,92 mm e espessura de 10,41 mm, peso de mil sementes superior a 200 g e umidade em torno de 7%. Possui três estruturas aladas semelhantes partindo do hilo e um par de cotilédones recobrindo o eixo embrionário. A germinação caracteriza-se como hipógea do tipo criptocotiledonar com protrusão da radícula após cinco dias de embebição e completa formação da plântula no 18º dia após semeadura.<br/><br/><br/>Palavras-chave: Biometria, Botânica, Espécie florestal. |

| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/><br/>Abstract: Moringa (Moringaoleifera Lam) is a fast-growing plant native to India that easily adapts to the edaphoclimatic conditions of northeastern Brazil. However, there is still little information on the production of seedlings, so the objective of this work was to characterize the morphobiometric aspects of the seed, and morphology of germination and moringa seedlings of this species. A total of 200 moringa seeds were used in complete stage of physiological maturation, being it at the moment of dispersion by the plant itself. The morphobiometric characterization of the seeds was carried out by the measurements of length and width by the use of a digital caliper and the visualization of integral parts of the seeds through stereoscopic loupes. Manual illustrations of germination and seedling morphology were performed. The data was evaluated in Microsoft Excel. Moringa seeds present the median size for length of 10,92 mm and 10,41 mm thick, thousand seed weight greater than 200 g and humidity around 7%. It has three similar winged structuresstarting from the hilum and a pair of cotyledons covering the embryonic axis. Germination is characterized as hypogeal type cryptocotylar with radicle protrusion after five days of soaking and complete formation of the seedlings on the 18th day after sowing. <br/><br/><br/>Keywords: Biometry, Botany, Forest species. |
