| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>Abstract<br/><br/>The study aimed to describe the species of Zingiberales in the wetlands of<br/>Ceará. Specimens from the herbaria ALCB, EAC, HUVA and HVASF were<br/>analyzed. Field work was carried out between 2010 and 2023. As result, we<br/>recognize representatives of Cannaceae (Canna glauca) and Marantaceae<br/>(Thalia densibracteata and Thalia geniculata) in the Ceará wetlands. The<br/>morphological characters that differentiate the three species are the shape<br/>of the leaves and the size and color of the flowers. An identification key,<br/>morphological descriptions, comments, distribution map, and photographic<br/>plates are presented.<br/><br/>Key words:<br/>• Cannaceae<br/>• diversity<br/>• Marantaceae<br/>• temporary ponds<br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>Resumo<br/><br/>O estudo objetivou descrever as espécies de Zingiberales das áreas inundadas<br/>do Ceará. Para isso, foram analisados espécimes dos herbários ALCB, EAC,<br/>HUVA e HVASF, bem como de expedições de campo realizadas entre 2010<br/>e 2023. No Ceará, os representantes de Zingiberales de áreas alagadiças são:<br/>Cannaceae (Canna glauca) e Marantaceae (Thalia densibracteata e Thalia<br/>geniculata). Os caracteres morfológicos que diferenciam as três espécies são<br/>a forma das folhas e o tamanho e a cor das flores.
