| Nota de conteúdo | <br/><br/>Esta pesquisa mediu o impacto da anemofilia artificial, aqui designada de polinização ventilada, sobre a<br/>frutificação do cacaueiro. O ventilador turbinado motorizado produziu a ventilação, a qual atingiu as flores com<br/>velocidade entre 60 a 100 km/h e ela foi aplicada durante 23 dias consecutivos. As variedades autocompatíveis<br/>experimentadas foram CP 2002, PS 1319, SJ 02, CP 2004 e CCN 51. A frutificação média das variedades polinizadas<br/>pela ventilação foi 4,7 vezes maior que a frutificação gerada pela polinização natural da mosca Forcipomyia spp.<br/>e outros insetos. Foi constatado que a polinização ventilada induz diferentes intensidades de frutificação nas<br/>variedades. Em ordem decrescente, as variedades que mais responderam à polinização ventilada foram CP 2002, PS<br/>1319, SJ 02, CP 2004 e CCN 51, que produziram, respectivamente, 5,6; 4,5; 2,5; 1,7 e 1,2 frutos por dia de ventilação.<br/>A polinização ventilada intensificou a polinização e frutificação, num curto espaço de tempo, concentrou a<br/>frutificação e potencializou a redução no número e no custo da colheita de cacau.<br/><br/>Palavras-chave: anemofilia, afideo, vento, ventilação, Theobroma cacao, Forcipomyia.<br/><br/><br/> |

| Nota de conteúdo | Artificial ventilation promotes fertilized pollination in cacao flower (Theobroma cacao L). <br/><br/>This research measured the impact of artificial anemophily, here called ventilated pollination, on the<br/>fruit set of cacao. The motorized turbine fan produced the ventilation, which reached the flowers with a speed<br/>between 60 to 100 km/h and it was applied during 23 consecutive days. The self-compatible varieties tested were<br/>CP 2002, PS 1319, SJ 02, CP 2004 and CCN 51. The average fructification of the varieties pollinated by ventilation<br/>was 4.7 times greater than the fructification generated by the natural pollination of the fly Forcipomyia spp. and<br/>other insects. It was found that ventilated pollination induces different fruiting intensities in the varieties. In<br/>descending order, the varieties that most responded to ventilated pollination were CP 2002, PS 1319, SJ 02, CP 2004<br/>and CCN 51, which produced, respectively, 5.6; 4.5; 2.5; 1.7 and 1.2 fruits per day of ventilation.
