RESUMO: 

Chenopodium ambrosioides L. (Chenopodiaceae) &#xE9; uma esp&#xE9;cie cosmopolita de h&#xE1;bito
herb&#xE1;ceo muito utilizada como medicinal, sendo um potente anti-helm&#xED;ntico. O objetivo do trabalho
foi buscar caracteres &#xFA;teis na identifica&#xE7;&#xE3;o da esp&#xE9;cie atrav&#xE9;s de sua anatomia foliar. A arquitetura
foliar foi descrita de acordo com a terminologia de Hickey. Cortes transversais da l&#xE2;mina foliar e
pec&#xED;olo e por&#xE7;&#xF5;es de epiderme dissociada foram utilizados para a confec&#xE7;&#xE3;o de l&#xE2;minas
semipermanentes. Os resultados mostram que presen&#xE7;a de tricomas tectores falciformes e
glandulares vesiculosos e a presen&#xE7;a de cristais de areia em c&#xE9;lulas de bainha de feixe s&#xE3;o
caracteres &#xFA;teis para a identifica&#xE7;&#xE3;o da esp&#xE9;cie.

ABSTRACT: 

Leaf anatomy of american wormseed (Chenopodium ambrosioides L. &#x2013;
Chenopodiaceae). Chenopodium ambrosioides L. is an herbaceous species distributed throughout
the world and it was described as a medicinal plant and a powerful anthelmintic. The objective of
this work was to search for useful characters in the identification of the species using its leaf
anatomy. Leaf architecture was determined according Hickey. Transversal cuts of leaf blade and
petiole and epidermal peels were mounted in semi-permanent slides with glycerine. Results show
that presence of scythe-shaped and bladelike glandular hairs and crystal-sand present in bundlesheath 
cells are useful characters for the species identification.
