<br/><br/> <br/>RESUMO: <br/><br/>O presente trabalho relata a análise por CG/EM do óleo essencial da própolis da cidade de Pio<br/>IX, Piauí. Foram identificadas 17 substâncias, sendo cinco monoterpenos e 12 sesquiterpenos. <br/>Os constituintes majoritários do óleo são o p-cariofileno (12,20 %), óxido de cariofileno (13,53 %) <br/>e viridiflorol (12,45%).<br/><br/>Palavras-chave: própolis, óleo essencial, [3-cariofileno, óxido de cariofileno, viridiflorol<br/>  <br/>ABSTRACT: <br/><br/>Components ofthe propolis essential oil produced in the city of Pio IX, in the state of Piaui.<br/>The present work reports the GC-MS analysis of the essential oil obtained from propolis produced in the<br/>city of Pio IX, in the state of Piaui, Northeastern Brazil. Seventeen components were identified, from which<br/>five were monoterpenes and 12, sesquiterpenes. The main volatile components were p-caryophyllene<br/>(12.20 %), caryophyllene oxide (13.53 %) and viridiflorol (12.45 %).<br/><br/>Key words: propolis, essential oil, p-caryophyllene, caryophyllene oxide, viridiflorol
