RESUMO: 

Este trabalho teve como objetivo identificar os constituintes voláteis de frutos e folhas de
Protium heptaphyllum (March). Para extração dos óleos essenciais, foram utilizadas as técnicas de
hidrodestilação em aparelhagem tipo Clevenger modificada e headspace dinâmico com PoraPak-Q®. A
identificação dos constituintes foi feita por CG-EM. O constituinte majoritário do óleo essencial dos frutos
variou de acordo com a técnica aplicada. No óleo obtido por hidrodestilação, o limoneno (92,68 %) foi o
majoritário e no obtido por headspace, foi o ô-3-careno (63,86 %). O constituinte majoritário das folhas em
ambas as extrações foi o p-cariofileno variando apenas sua porcentagem (32,08 % na hidrodestilação e
29,07 % no headspace).

  <abstract>

ABSTRACT: 

Identification essential oils from fruits and leaves of Protium heptaphyllum (March). The
chemical composition of the essential oils from fruits and leaves of Protium heptaphyllum (March) was
investigated by GC-MS. The extraction of the essential oils was carried out by hydrodistillation in a modified
Clevenger type apparatus and dynamic headspace with PoraPak-Q®. The main components of the essential
oils from the fruits varied depending on the technique applied. Limonene was the major constituent of the
fruit essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation, and Ô-3-carene when dynamic headspace was used. The
major constituent of the leaf essential oil was p-caryophyllene at 32.08% from hydrodistillation, and 29.07%
using the headspace technique.
