RESUMO: 

O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar a atividade acaricida in vitro do extrato
etanólico bruto e das frações obtidas por partição do extrato etanólico de Selaginella convoluta
no controle de Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus. O extrato bruto e as frações (5, 10 e 25
mg/mL) foram submetidos ao teste de imersão de fêmeas ingurgitadas para verificação da
porcentagem de eclosão dos ovos, inibição da oviposição, índice de reprodução estimada e a
eficácia dos extratos. Das amostras avaliadas, o extrato etanólico bruto (2,5%) apresentou o
melhor resultado, obtendo 54,6% de eficácia. Embora nem todas as frações tenham apresentado
uma eficácia satisfatória, os resultados encontrados podem sugerir um efeito auxiliar no controle
de carrapatos.

ABSTRACT: 

Selaginella convolute presents acaricidal activity against Rhipicephalus
(Boophilus) microplus ticks. This study aimed to evaluate the in vitro acaricidal activity of
crude ethanolic extract and phases obtained by partition of the crude extract of Selaginella
convoluta in control of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus. The crude extract and fractions of
Selaginella convoluta (5, 10 and 25 mg/ml) were submitted to immersion test engorged females
in order to verify the percentage of hatching, inhibition of oviposition, estimated rendering index
and efficacy of the extracts. The crude ethanol extract (2.5%) showed the best result, achieving
54.6% of efficiency. Although not all fractions have showed a satisfactory efficacy, the present
results may suggest an auxiliary effect in controlling ticks.
