RESUMO: 

Com o objetivo de avaliar a efici&#xEA;ncia de diferentes substratos na produ&#xE7;&#xE3;o de mudas
de uma importante esp&#xE9;cie medicinal end&#xEA;mica da regi&#xE3;o amaz&#xF4;nica; Croton lechleri Mull. Arg.,
popularmente conhecida como sangue de drag&#xE3;o; instalou-se um experimento delineado em
blocos casualizados, com 12 tratamentos submetidos a 4 repeti&#xE7;&#xF5;es. Os substratos testados
foram confeccionados a partir da mistura, em diferentes propor&#xE7;&#xF5;es, de solo, serragem e
esterco de galinha. Foram avaliadas as vari&#xE1;veis de crescimento (altura de planta, di&#xE2;metro de
caule, n&#xFA;mero de folhas e massa seca total), os teores de clorofila e o &#xED;ndice de qualidade das
mudas produzidas. Os melhores resultados foram obtidos com os substratos compostos por
solo + esterco de galinha em todas as vari&#xE1;veis avaliadas, destacando-se o que apresentava a
maior quantidade de esterco, evidenciando alta afinidade da esp&#xE9;cie por grandes quantidades
de mat&#xE9;ria org&#xE2;nica. A serragem, como constituinte de substratos, n&#xE3;o favorece a produ&#xE7;&#xE3;o
de mudas de Croton lechleri.

ABSTRACT: 

Substrates to produce of dragon blood seedlings (Croton lechleri) via
seminiferous propagation. This study was conducted in order to evaluate the efficiency of
different substrates in the production of seedlings of an important endemic medicinal species in
the Amazon region: Croton lechleri Mull. Arg, popularly known as dragon&#x2019;s blood. A randomized
complete block experiment was carried out, with 12 treatments submitted to 4 repetitions. The
substrates tested were prepared from a mixture with varying proportions of soil, sawdust, and
poultry manure. The variables evaluated were growth variables (plant height, stem diameter,
leaf number, and total dry mass), chlorophyll content, and the quality index of the produced
seedlings. The best results on all variables were obtained with substrates composed of soil +
chicken manure, notably the one with the highest quantity of manure, showing high affinity of
the species to large amounts of organic matter. Sawdust, as a constituent of substrates, does
not promote the production of Croton lechleri seedlings.
