RESUMO: 

Cymbopogon nardus mais popularmente conhecido como citronela, possui in&#xFA;meros
potenciais fitoter&#xE1;picos. Levando em conta a import&#xE2;ncia do &#xF3;leo essencial dessas plantas e
o aumento da procura por seus princ&#xED;pios ativos, mais estudos s&#xE3;o necess&#xE1;rios, tendo em
vista que seus compostos qu&#xED;micos podem ser alterados por v&#xE1;rios fatores. Assim, o objetivo
deste trabalho foi analisar o crescimento e a produ&#xE7;&#xE3;o do &#xF3;leo essencial do capim citronela
cultivado em diferentes composi&#xE7;&#xF5;es de substratos. Foram utilizados quatro tratamentos com
10 repeti&#xE7;&#xF5;es por amostragem em um total de tr&#xEA;s amostragens. Os substratos utilizados foram:
T1) mistura de terra preta + 15 g de composto Bokashi + 13 g de NPK (4:14:8) + adi&#xE7;&#xE3;o de 8
gramas de ureia por planta a cada 45 dias, perfazendo um total de tr&#xEA;s aplica&#xE7;&#xF5;es de ureia
em cobertura; T2) mistura de terra preta + 15 g de composto Bokashi + 13 g de NPK (4:14:8);
T3) mistura de terra preta + 15 g de composto Bokashi; e, T4) somente terra preta. Foram
analisadas a produ&#xE7;&#xE3;o de mat&#xE9;ria seca, a &#xE1;rea foliar espec&#xED;fica, a parti&#xE7;&#xE3;o de fotoassimilados e
o teor dos &#xF3;leos essenciais. Verificou-se que o tratamento com aplica&#xE7;&#xE3;o de ureia foi mais eficaz
na produ&#xE7;&#xE3;o de massa de mat&#xE9;ria seca total, e que os demais tratamentos n&#xE3;o apresentaram
diferen&#xE7;a estat&#xED;stica entre si, apresentando uma produ&#xE7;&#xE3;o menor. A subst&#xE2;ncia majorit&#xE1;ria
produzida foi o &#x3B2;-citronelal, seguida do trans-geraniol. A quantidade e a composi&#xE7;&#xE3;o do &#xF3;leo
essencial variaram conforme o substrato e o per&#xED;odo de colheita.

ABSTRACT: 

Analysis of growth and essential oil content in citronella (Cymbopogon nardus)
under different compositions of substrate. The Cymbopogon nardus more popularly known
as citronella has numerous potential herbal medicines. Taking into account the importance of the
essential oil of these plants and the increased demand for its active principles, more studies are
needed, given that their chemical compounds can be altered by several factors. The objective
of this study was to analyze the growth and essential oil production of citronella grass grown in
different compositions of substrates. Four treatments were used with 10 repetitions per sample
for a total of three samples. The substrates used were: T1) mixture of black soil + 15 g Bokashi
compound + 13 g of NPK (4:14:8) + adding 8 grams of urea per plant every 45 days, for a total
of three applications of urea coverage; T2) mixture of black soil + 15 g Bokashi compound + 13
g of NPK (4:14:8); T3) mixture of black soil + 15 g Bokashi compound; and T4) only black soil.
They analyzed the production of dry matter, specific leaf area, assimilates partition and content
of essential oils. It was found that treatment with application of urea was more effective in mass
production of total dry matter, and that the other treatments showed no statistical differences
among themselves, with a lower production. The major substance produced &#x3B2;-citronellal was
followed by the trans-Geraniol. The quantity and essential oil composition varied as the substrate
and the harvest period.
