RESUMO: 

Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar as evidências científicas disponíveis na
literatura sobre a eficácia da Aloe vera de uso tópico comparada à Sulfadiazina de Prata
no tratamento de queimaduras. Revisão integrativa, realizada nas bases/bancos de dados
CINAHL, LILACS, PUBMED-PICO, SciELO, no período entre 2007 a 2016. Os descritores
eficácia, queimaduras, Aloe, plantas medicinais, Sulfadiazina de Prata, resultado do tratamento
e medicamentos fitoterápicos foram combinados entre si em português, inglês e espanhol,
a fim de garantir ampla busca de estudos primários. Dos 139 artigos disponíveis na íntegra,
após leitura e análise, 8 foram incluídos no estudo. Desses, 6 apresentaram forte nível de
evidência. Conclui-se que o uso da Aloe vera comparada à Sulfadiazina de Prata parece ser
um tratamento promissor para a queimadura.

ABSTRACT: 

Efficacy of Aloe vera compared to Silver Sulfadiazine in treating burns: an
integrative review .The purpose of the study was to evaluate the scientific evidence available
in the literature on the effectiveness of Aloe vera topical compared to Silver Sulfadiazine in the
treatment of burns. Integrative review, conducted on the basis / databases CINAHL, LILACS,
PUBMED-PICO, SciELO, for the period 2007 to 2016. The efficiency descriptors, burns, Aloe,
medicinal plants, Silver Sulfadiazine, a result of treatment and herbal medicines were combined
each other in Portuguese, English and Spanish in order to ensure broad search of primary
studies. Of the 139 articles available in full, after reading and analyzing, 8 were included in the
study. Of these, six showed a strong level of evidence. We conclude that the use of Aloe vera
compared to Silver Sulfadiazine appears to be a promising treatment for burn injury.
