Benth. e espécies afins (Leguminosae - Papilionoideae) na<br/>Mata Atlântica) As espécies M. incorruptibile, M. fluminense, M. fulvovenosum, M. firmum e M. legale são<br/>descritas e ilustradas. Os caracteres taxonômicos mais relevantes para a delimitação específica, bem como<br/>habitat e distribuição geográfica são discutidos. São também apresentados novos dados sobre o hábito e as<br/>características da flor de M. fluminense.<br/><br/>Palavras-chave: Taxonomia, morfologia, Leguminosae, Machaerium, mata atlântica.  <br/><br/>Abstract<br/><br/>(Taxonomy of Machaerium incorruptibile (Vell.) Benth. and allied species (Leguminosae - Papilionoideae) in<br/>the Atlantic Forest) The species M. incorruptibile, M. fluminense, M. fulvovenosum, M. firmum and M.<br/>legale are described and illustrated. The most relevant characters for species delimitation as well as the<br/>preferred habitat and the geographic distribuition are discussed. New data concerning the habit and floral<br/>traits of M. fluminense are also presented.<br/><br/>Key words: Taxonomy, morphology, Leguminosae, Machaerium,atlantic forest.
