RESUMO

(Flora do Parque Nacional do Itatiaia – Brasil: Manekia e Piper (Piperaceae)) O Parque Nacional (PARNA) do
Itatiaia foi a primeira unidade de conservação criada no Brasil, protegento atualmente 28.155 ha de remanescente
florestal atlântico na Serra da Mantiqueira. Este trabalho tem como objetivo dar continuidade à flora de
Piperaceae do PARNA do Itatiaia, apresentando o tratamento dos gêneros Piper e Manekia. Manekia
obtusa é a única espécie do gênero no PARNA e constitui um novo registro para a região. Piper está
representado por 28 espécies na área de estudo e sete são citadas pela primeira vez para a localidade. Uma
nova variedade, P. permucronatum var. cilliatum D. Monteiro & E.F. Guim., e um novo nome P. strictifolium
D. Monteiro & E.F. Guim. (Ottonia angustifolia Rizzini) são propostos. São fornecidas chave de identificação,
além de descrições, comentários para os táxons e ilustrações para aqueles pouco conhecidos ou registrados
pela primeira vez na região.

ABSTRACT

(Flora of the Itatiaia National Park – Brazil: Manekia and Piper (Piperaceae)) The Itatiaia National Park was
the first conservation unit created in Brazil. Currently, it protects about 28,155 ha of remaining Atlantic forest
in the Mantiqueira mountain range. This study continues the flora of Piperaceae of the National Park of
Itatiaia by presenting the treatment of the genera Piper and Manekia. Manekia obtusa is the only species of
the genus in the area and is also a new occurrence. Piper is represented by 28 species in the studt area; seven
of them are new occurrences. A new variety, P. permucronatum var. cilliatum D. Monteiro & E.F. Guim., and
a new name, P. strictifolium D. Monteiro & E.F. Guim. (Ottonia angustifolia Rizzini), are proposed. An
identification key, descriptions and comments for taxa, besides illustrations of those poorly known or that are
reported for the first time in the region, are provided.
