Abstract This study includes the species of Burmanniaceae recorded for the cangas of the Serra dos Carajás, Pará state, and provides detailed descriptions, illustrations, and morphological comments of the species in the study area. Two species of Burmannia are recorded: B. capitata and B. flava, both widely distributed in the Neotropical area. Key words: Amazonia, flora, National Forest of Carajás, taxonomy.
