Resumo

Este estudo aborda a família Smilacaceae nas cangas da Serra dos Carajás, no estado do Pará e contém
descrições detalhadas, ilustrações e comentários morfológicos das espécies na área.Foram registradas duas
espécies: Smilax irrorata e Smilax syphilitica, ambas com distribuição na América do Sul.

Abstract

This study deals with the Smilacaceae family registered for the canga of the Serra dos Carajás, Pará state and
provides detailed descriptions, illustrations, and morphological comments of the species in the study area.
Two species were recorded: Smilax irrorata and Smilax syphilitica, both found throughout South America.
