RESUMO:    O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar eventos GMs promissores de forma r&#xE1;pida e pr&#xE1;tica, em substitui&#xE7;&#xE3;o &#xE0;s metodologias baseadas em pulveriza&#xE7;&#xE3;o a&#xE9;rea em casa de vegeta&#xE7;&#xE3;o e PCR convencional. Foram utilizadas oito linhagens GMs e suas respectivas isolinhas convencionais. Foram realizados testes de germina&#xE7;&#xE3;o e comprimento de pl&#xE2;ntulas em papel de germina&#xE7;&#xE3;o umedecido com solu&#xE7;&#xE3;o do herbicida e condi&#xE7;&#xE3;o controle. Para verificar a efici&#xEA;ncia do m&#xE9;todo, foram realizados, ensaios em casa de vegeta&#xE7;&#xE3;o, onde o herbicida foi aplicado em plantas no est&#xE1;dio V3. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que as linhagens GMs 2Ia4, 2Oa4, 5Ha10 e 1Ea2939 apresentaram fen&#xF3;tipo de resist&#xEA;ncia tanto no teste de germina&#xE7;&#xE3;o e comprimento de pl&#xE2;ntulas, quanto em plantas em est&#xE1;gio V3. Algumas das linhagens GMs (2Ha11, 2Ia1, 3Pa4 e 1Ea15), mesmo sendo confirmada a presen&#xE7;a do gene bar via PCR, foram sens&#xED;veis ao herbicida. As diferen&#xE7;as observadas no fen&#xF3;tipo de resist&#xEA;ncia das diferentes linhagens GMs podem estar associadas &#xE0;s varia&#xE7;&#xF5;es no n&#xED;vel de express&#xE3;o do gene bar, que pode variar conforme a posi&#xE7;&#xE3;o de inser&#xE7;&#xE3;o no genoma hospedeiro. Pode-se concluir que a aplica&#xE7;&#xE3;o do teste de germina&#xE7;&#xE3;o e comprimento de pl&#xE2;ntulas em papel se mostrou eficiente na sele&#xE7;&#xE3;o de plantas resistentes ao herbicida, com resultados confirmados pelos testes com plantas em est&#xE1;gio V3 em casa de vegeta&#xE7;&#xE3;o, mostrando-se como uma metodologia r&#xE1;pida, de baixo custo, pr&#xE1;tica e fact&#xED;vel de aplica&#xE7;&#xE3;o precoce, acelerando a triagem de plantas promissoras em programas de melhoramento.

ABSTRACT:     The  objective  of  this  work  was  to  identify  promising  GM  events  in  a  fast  and  practical  manner,  in  replacement  of  methodologies  based  in  aerial  pulverization  in  greenhouse  and  conventional  PCR.  Eight  GM  events  and  their  respective  conventional  isolines were used. Germination and seedling length tests were performed on a paper soaked in an herbicide solution and in the control conditions. To compare the method efficiency, greenhouse tests were carried out, in which the herbicide was applied to plants in the V3stage.  Results  obtained  indicated  that  events  2Ia4,  2Oa4,  5Ha10,  and  1Ea2939  showed  resistance phenotype in both germination and seedling length tests, as well as in plants in the V3 developmental stage. Some GM events (2Ha11, 2Ia1, 3Pa4 and 1Ea15), even with the confirmation of gene bar, were sensible to herbicide. The differences observed in the resistance phenotype of the different GM lineages may be associated with variations in the level of expression of the bar gene, which may vary depending on the insertion position in the host genome. It was possible to conclude that the use of germination and seedling length tests in paper was efficient for selecting GM plants with confirmed results in tests performed  in  greenhouse  with  adult  plants,  showing  to  be  a  fast,  cheap,  and  practical  methodology, applicable in an early stage, accelerating the screening of promising plants in breeding programs.
