RESUMO:    Com objetivo de avaliar os atributos qu&#xED;micos de solo em que se usou cultura de cobertura e gesso agr&#xED;cola para o cultivo de abacaxizeiro, realizou-se um experimento em  um  Latossolo  Vermelho-Amarelo  no  munic&#xED;pio  de  C&#xE1;ceres,  MT.  Foram  estudadas  quatro  cultivares  de  abacaxizeiro:  P&#xE9;rola,  Hava&#xED;,  IAC  Fant&#xE1;stico  e  Imperial;  dois  n&#xED;veis  de  corre&#xE7;&#xE3;o  do  solo:  com  e  sem  gesso  agr&#xED;cola;  e  dois  n&#xED;veis  de  manejo:  com  e  sem  cultura de cobertura. Na presen&#xE7;a de gesso agr&#xED;cola houve redu&#xE7;&#xE3;o significativa do pH (de 4,88 para 4,77) e aumento dos teores de f&#xF3;sforo (de 22,72 mg.dm-3 para 48,79 mg.dm-3) e da satura&#xE7;&#xE3;o de bases (de 62% para 67%) para a camada de 0-20 cm. Houve aumento significativo nos teores de mat&#xE9;ria org&#xE2;nica associado &#xE0; presen&#xE7;a de gesso apenas para a cultivar Hava&#xED;. N&#xE3;o foi constatado influ&#xEA;ncia da aplica&#xE7;&#xE3;o de gesso nos teores de pot&#xE1;ssio, c&#xE1;lcio, magn&#xE9;sio e na capacidade de troca de c&#xE1;tions. A cultura de cobertura com milheto aumentou significativamente o pH (de 4,72 para 4,92), os teores de f&#xF3;sforo (de 11,83 mg.dm-3para 74,51 mg.dm-3), mat&#xE9;ria org&#xE2;nica (de 14,4 g.dm-1 para 17,2 g.dm-1), a capacidade de troca de c&#xE1;tions (de 3,04 cmolc/dm3 para 3,47 cmolc/dm3) e a satura&#xE7;&#xE3;o de bases (de 61,92% para 67,99%). Assim, observaram-se efeitos do manejo com cobertura do solo e corre&#xE7;&#xE3;o com gesso nas caracter&#xED;sticas qu&#xED;micas do solo, mantendo n&#xED;veis adequados de nutrientes no solo ao final do ciclo.

ABSTRACT:     This  study  aimed  to  evaluate  chemical  properties  of  soil  under  pineapple  cultivation. The experiment was conducted on a Red Yellow Latosol (Oxisol), medium texture, in the city of Caceres, MT. Four pineapple cultivars were studied: Pearl, Smooth Cayenne, IAC Fantastic and Imperial; two levels of soil correction: with and without gypsum; and two levels of management: with and without millet cover crop. In the presence of gypsum the pH (de 4.88 to 4.77) decreased and phosphorus (22.72 mg.dm-3 to 48.79 mg.dm-3and base saturation levels increase. A significant increase in the levels of matter organic associated with the presence of gypsum only to cultivate Smooth Cayenne. Gypsum did not influence the levels of potassium, calcium and CTC. In the presence of the millet as cover crop the pH (de 4.72 to 4.92), phosphorus (11.83 g.dm-3 to 74.51 g.dm-3), organic matter (14.4 g.dm-1 to 17.2 g.dm-1), CEC (3.04 cmolc/dm3 para 3.47 cmolc/dm3) and base saturation (de 61.92% to 67.99%) increased significantly. Soil management with millet coverage and gypsum application significantly influenced the soil chemical properties, maintaining adequate levels of nutrients in the soil at the end of the crop cycle.
