RESUMO:    Apesar de ser considerada uma cultura com grande potencial para a diversifica&#xE7;&#xE3;o da fruticultura brasileira, ainda existem diversos aspectos pouco elucidados sobre o manejo de pitaia vermelha, particularmente na propaga&#xE7;&#xE3;o vegetativa. Diante disso, objetivou-se avaliar o efeito de enraizadores e tipos de estacas no enraizamento de pitaia vermelha. O  experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegeta&#xE7;&#xE3;o, onde testaram-se enraizadores [aus&#xEA;ncia, dose recomendada de AIB (&#xE1;cido indolbut&#xED;rico) (3.000 mg L-1) e gel enraizador comercial] e tipos de estaca &#x2013; estiolada, padr&#xE3;o e vigorosa. Os n&#xED;veis de ambos os fatores foram arranjados em esquema fatorial 3 &#xD7; 3, com quatro blocos ao acaso e duas plantas &#xFA;teis por parcela. Aos 90 dias, avaliou-se: sobreviv&#xEA;ncia e enraizamento de estacas, comprimento da maior raiz (CR), largura radicular (LR), massa fresca das ra&#xED;zes (MFR), massa seca das ra&#xED;zes (MSR), massa fresca da parte a&#xE9;rea (MFPA), massa seca da parte a&#xE9;rea (MSPA), massa seca total (MST), n&#xFA;mero de emiss&#xF5;es laterais (NEL), somat&#xF3;rio do comprimento de emiss&#xF5;es laterais (SCEL) e rela&#xE7;&#xE3;o parte a&#xE9;rea raiz (RPAR). Concluiu-se que o uso de enraizadores e os tipos de estacas afetam o enraizamento de pitaia vermelha. As estacas vigorosas dispensam o uso de enraizadores e s&#xE3;o as mais recomendadas para o sistema de produ&#xE7;&#xE3;o de mudas de pitaia vermelha. Na escassez de estacas vigorosas, &#xE9; conveniente a aplica&#xE7;&#xE3;o de gel enraizador para melhorar o enraizamento de mudas propagadas por estacas padr&#xE3;o ou estioladas.

ABSTRACT:    Although considered a crop with great potential for the diversification of the Brazilian fruit growing, there are still many aspects poorly elucidated on the handling of red pitaya, particularly in vegetative propagation. Thus, the present study was performed in order to evaluate the effect of rootings and types of cuttings on rooting of red pitaya. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, being tested rootings [absence, recommended dose of IBA (acid indolbut&#xED;rico) (3,000 mg L-1) and commercial rooting gel] and types of cuttings &#x2013; etiolated, standard and vigorous. The levels of both factors were arranged in a 3 &#xD7; 3 factorial scheme, with four randomized blocks and two useful plants per plot. At 90 days were  evaluated:  survival  and  rooting  of  cuttings,  length  of  biggest  root  (LR),  root  width  (RW), mass of fresh roots (MFR), dry mass of roots (DMR), fresh weight of shoot (FWS), dry weight of shoot (DWS), total dry weight (TDW), number of side emissions (NSE), sum of the length of side emissions (SLSE) and shoot-root relation (SRR). It was concluded that the use of rootings and types of cuttings affect the rooting of red pitaya. Vigorous cuttings exempt the use of rootings and are the most recommended for the red pitaya plants production system. In lack of vigorous cuttings, is convenient application of rooting gel to improve the rooting of plants propagated by standard or etiolated cutting.
