RESUMO:    O nitrog&#xEA;nio (N) &#xE9; o nutriente mais requerido no cultivo do milho (Zea mays L.), e o seu custo representa uma significativa participa&#xE7;&#xE3;o na lucratividade do milho segunda safra. O estudo teve como objetivo determinar a viabilidade econ&#xF4;mica da utiliza&#xE7;&#xE3;o de fontes e doses de N na produtividade de gr&#xE3;os do milho cultivado na segunda safra em sistema  de  plantio  direto  (SPD).  O  experimento  foi  realizado  em  Latossolo  Vermelho  distr&#xF3;fico, nos anos agr&#xED;colas 2007 e 2008. Os tratamentos foram constitu&#xED;dos de tr&#xEA;s fontes de N [Sulfonitrato de am&#xF4;nio com inibidor de nitrifica&#xE7;&#xE3;o (SNA + I), sulfato de am&#xF4;nio (SA) e ureia] distribu&#xED;das em cinco doses (0, 50, 100, 150 e 200 kg ha&#x2013;1 de N), aplicadas em cobertura no est&#xE1;dio de seis folhas (V6). Na an&#xE1;lise econ&#xF4;mica, foram considerados os custos da aduba&#xE7;&#xE3;o nitrogenada e os acr&#xE9;scimos na produtividade de gr&#xE3;os proporcionados por cada tratamento e calculados o valor de produ&#xE7;&#xE3;o e a margem de ganho. A aduba&#xE7;&#xE3;o nitrogenada em cobertura na dose de 100 kg ha&#x2013;1 de N na forma de SA ou 150 kg ha&#x2013;1 de N na forma de ureia proporcionou as maiores lucratividades. O SNA + I proporcionou baixa lucratividade e o SA proporcionou as maiores lucratividades com o uso de doses menores de N (100 kg ha&#x2013;1 de N) em rela&#xE7;&#xE3;o &#xE0; ureia.

ABSTRACT:    Nitrogen (N) is the most required nutrient to corn crop (Zea mays L.), and its cost is a significant stake in the profitability of second crop corn. This work aimed to determinate the economic viability of the usage of several sources and rates of nitrogen in the productivity of second crop corn in no-till system. The experiment was developed in an Oxisol, during the agricultural years of 2007 and 2008. Treatments included three N sources [Ammonium sulfonitrate with nitrification inhibitor, ammonium sulfate, and urea] in five N rates (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 kg ha&#x2013;1), totally applied in the coverage, in six leaf stage (V6). The economic analysis considered the N fertilization costs and the yield additions provided by the N fertilization handling for each relative treatment. The nitrogen fertilization at rate the 100 as ammonium sulfate and 150 kg ha&#x2013;1 of N or ureia provided the greatest profitability. The ammonium sulfonitrate with nitrification inhibitor provided low profitability and the ammonium sulphate provided the greatest profitabilities with the use of smaller doses of N (150 kg ha&#x2013;1 of N) compared to urea.
