RESUMO  -   O estabelecimento de uma esp&#xE9;cie ex&#xF3;tica invasora como Cryptostegia madagascariensis Bojer ex Decne. na maioria das vezes causa modifica&#xE7;&#xF5;es desfavor&#xE1;veis ao meio ambiente, alterando as caracter&#xED;sticas da vegeta&#xE7;&#xE3;o e causam o desaparecimento de esp&#xE9;cies nativas de diferentes h&#xE1;bitos de crescimento. Objetivou-se investigar a influ&#xEA;ncia da invas&#xE3;o por Cryptostegia madagascariensis sobre a diversidade do banco de sementes do solo em um remanescente de caatinga, localizado no munic&#xED;pio de Ibaretama, estado do Cear&#xE1;, Brasil. O ambiente de estudo foi estratificado em duas &#xE1;reas: Ambiente I - &#xC1;rea N&#xE3;o Invadida (remanescente de caatinga relativamente bem conservado); e Ambiente II - &#xC1;rea Invadida (caracterizada por apresentar presen&#xE7;a expressiva de Cryptostegia madagascariensis). Foram coletadas, aleatoriamente, 50 amostras de solo em cada &#xE1;rea alocada. Avaliou-se a composi&#xE7;&#xE3;o flor&#xED;stica, a diversidade e a estrutura do banco de sementes do solo. Registrou-se durante todo o estudo a germina&#xE7;&#xE3;o de 5.930 indiv&#xED;duos, distribu&#xED;dos em um total de 18 fam&#xED;lias, 46 g&#xEA;neros e 71 esp&#xE9;cies. A diversidade foi de 3,22 e 2,54 para os Ambientes I e II, respectivamente. A menor diversidade observada para o Ambiente II evidencia que a presen&#xE7;a expressiva de Cryptostegia madagascariensis tende a reduzir a riqueza flor&#xED;stica espec&#xED;fica do banco de sementes do solo.

ABSTRACT  -   The establishment of invader exotic species such as Cryptostegia madagascariensis Bojer ex Decne. often causes adversative changes for the environment, which may change the vegetation characteristics through the disappearance of native species of  different  growing  habits.  The  objective  of  this  study  was  to  investigate  the  influence  of  the  invasion  by Cryptostegia madagascariensis on diversity the soil seed bank in a remnant of Caatinga, in Ibaretama municipality, Cear&#xE1;, Brazil. The ambient was divided in two areas: Not Invaded Area - Ambient I (remaining of Caatinga well conserved relatively); and Invaded Area - Ambient II (characterized by having significant invasion of Cryptostegia  madagascariensis). It was collected 50 soil samples, randomly, at each allocated area. We evaluated the floristic composition, diversity and vegetation structure. Germination was recorded thru the study of 5.930 individuals, distributed in a total of 18 families, 46 genres and 71 species. The diversity for Non-invaded and invaded areas was 3.22 and 2.54, respectively. The lowest diversity observed for the Invaded Area shows that the significant presence of Cryptostegia madagascariensis tends to reduce the specific floristic composition of the soil seed bank of invaded area.
