Abstract

The genus Hypoxylon is the most diverse of the family Hypoxylaceae,
distributed through nine Brazilian states, with most species known from
southern region due to the studies of Johannes Rick. Field samples in Southern
Bahia, resulted in interesting collections of Hypoxylon. Here we present H.
rectangulosporum for the first time from Brazil, H. aeruginosum, H. investiens
for the Northeast and H. perforatum for Bahia.

Key words:
• Brazilian Funga
• Diversity
• Taxonomy
• Xylariaceous fungi
