520			_a RESUMO: Pacientes em tratamento quimioterápico, radioterápico e com terapia imunossupressora apresentam mucosite oral com grande frequência e o efeito protetor de produtos naturais, como a camomila, contra a toxicidade causada por estes agentes é provavelmente uma das estratégias preventivas mais promissoras para estes pacientes. O presente trabalho trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura que analisou o uso da Chamomilla recutita no tratamento e/ou prevenção da mucosite. Foram encontradas 15 referências. Contudo, somente nove se enquadravam nos critérios de inclusão. Dos artigos analisados nesta revisão, oito apresentaram resultados positivos do uso da camomila na mucosite oral, reduzindo a incidência e/ou a intensidade. Apenas um dos estudos não mostrou evidências relacionadas à camomila. Observa-se que a C. recutita vem demonstrando efetividade quanto ao seu uso em alterações inflamatórias. Entretanto, para comprovar sua indicação, assim como a sua efetividade, faz-se necessário o desenvolvimento de novos estudos. Palavras-chave: Camomila; Mucosite; Fitoterapia
520			_a ABSTRACT: Use of Chamomilla recutita in oral mucositis: an integrative review. Patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunosuppressive therapy have oral mucositis with great frequency and the protective effect of natural products, such as chamomile, against toxicity caused by these agents is probably one of the most promising preventive strategies for these patients. This article it is an integrative review of the literatures in order to analyze the use of Chamomilla recutita in the treatment and/or prevention of mucositis. We have found 15 references, nevertheless only some of them met the inclusion criteria. Nine articles were analyzed in this review, eight had positive results about the use of chamomile in oral mucositis, reducing the incidence and / or intensity. And one of the studies showed no evidence related to chamomile. It is observed that C. recutita has demonstrated effectiveness due to inflammatory changes. However, in order to prove this statement, as well as its effectiveness, it is necessary the development of new studies. Keywords: Chamomile; Mucositis; Phytotherapy
