520			_a Resumen Se describe e ilustra una nueva especie de Scutelleria del norestede Cuba. Scutelleria holguinensis se ubica en Scutelleria subg. Scutellaria, sect. Scutellaria y está estrechamente relacionada con S. havanensis, de la cual difiere por ser plantas poco robustas, con follaje ralo; hojas orbiculares y flores magentas. Su distribución se encuentra limitada a la provincia de Holguín y de acuerdo con los parámetros establecidos por la IUCN, se encuentra en peligro crítico de extinción (CR). Palabras clave: endemismo, especies amenazadas, matorrales xeromorfos espinosos sobre serpentinas, Provincia Holguín. Abstract A new species of Scutelleria from Northeastern Cuba is described and illustrated. Scutelleria holguinensis is placed into Scutelleria subg. Scutellaria, sect. Scutellaria and it is closely related with S. havanensis, from which it may be distinguished by being relatively few robust plants, with scattered branches, orbicular leaves and magenta flowers. Its distribution is limited to the province of Holguín and following IUCN standards, it is considered in critically endangered (CR). Key words: endemism, threatened species, thorny xeromorph thicket on serpentine, Province of Holguín.
